Just like what I said already on my previous articles, the goal of the search engines is to provide relevant result on every queries made by the internet users. Engineers behind the search engines wrote algorithms which are responsible in indexing websites and returning the list of webpages as the result in every searches made through the search engine.

From time to time, search engines became more popular. (Should I say, search engine is now the most popular tool in finding information from the internet.)

Webmasters (including bloggers) on the other hand realized how important is the search engine in getting traffic for their websites or blogs. Almost all internet users use search engine in searching for the information they’re looking for. And those webpages listed at the top of the list at the result page are those that are most likely visited by the internet users.

So, webmasters studied how the search engines rank webpages at the search engine result pages. After learning the secrets of these search engines, they then optimized their websites or blogs so that the webpages of their websites or blogs will be listed at the top at the search engine result pages.

Because of the competition in getting the higher rank at the search engine result pages, some webmasters or bloggers use tricks to win the top position of the SERP. This trick is called as the “Black Hat SEO“.

Black Hat SEO really embarrass the engineers behind the search engines because people practicing Black Hat SEO are gaming the algorithm of the search engines. So, to retain the high quality and relevancy of the search engine results, the algorithm of the search engine has been modified so that those who gamed it would be penalized and would never be included on the SERP, if not, the page rank weight of the webpages of their websites or blogs would be lessen.

So, to make it short, search engines penalize websites that violates the existing policies and guidelines imposed by the search engines.

What are the techniques that can cause the penalty? Among the search engines that I knew (ie Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, etc), I think only the Google search engine is strictly penalizing websites.

Ex: John Chow’s blog is under the penalty imposed by Google search engine but it’s not penalized in Yahoo search engine.

According to Matt Cutts, one of the engineers of Google, any techniques that manipulates the PageRank and the page rank at the search engine result will lead to being penalized by the search engine.

These technique are:

Link Exchange.

Link Buying without “nofollow” tag.

Link Selling without “nofollow” tag.

Creating Fake Network of Blogs. Some webmasters create several blogs from the free blogging hosts like blogger.com, wordpress.com, blogsome.com, etc. Then all these blogs are linking to the real blog.

Keyword Stuffing. Flooding each webpages with keywords.

Linking to Bad websites.

Cloaking. Configuring the webpage so that the content seen by the Search engine is different to what the users have seen.

Hidden Texts and Hidden Links in your blog’s webpages.

Making money with Google Adsense has become one of the hottest topics on the internet. Everyone with a website can add this stream of revenue to their pages and begin to cash in on this proven source of revenue. Smart entrepreneurs are seeing the dollar signs and putting up websites specifically designed to attract traffic that will create an Adsense revenue for them. Even people without a website of their own are cashing in by putting up Adsense ads on their blogs.

Here are a few tips that will help you put money in your pocket using Google Adsense.

1. Content is king on the internet. Your focus has to be on great content on topics that have a large niche following. For the purposes of this article, a niche is defined as a special area of demand for a product or service. The more you can focus on a niche area with your web pages, the more Google will be able to deliver highly relevant Adwords to your visitors. This results in higher click through rates and more money for you.

2. Aim for using higher paying keywords. It goes without saying that if the Adwords on your site pay more per click that you’ll earn more. One way to discover which words are paying more is to use the free tool over at Overture. Sure, Overture and Google don’t pay the same, but the difference isn’t that great and this tool will give you a good idea of which keywords will pay more than others.

3. The more qualified visitors you can get to your site, the more money making potential you create. People who are specifically interested in your high quality, content rich web pages are more likely to click on relevant Google Adwords.

4. Don’t try to fool Google Adsense. There are a number of things you can do and books you can get to inform you on how to do these tricks. I don’t recommend you use them. Just concentrate on high quality, content rich websites. And the one thing you never, ever, ever want to do is to click on your own Adsense ads. That little trick could get your account with Google cancelled.

5. Placement and size of your Adsense ads are very important. Get this one thing right and you could see significant money flow into your account. Get it wrong and the money will only trickle in. Make sure your ads are prominent. Also, make sure they blend in with the overall look of your web page. Links in the ads should always be blue.

I hope you find these tips helpful. They only scratch the surface of making serious money with Adsense. There’s so much more to learn, but with these tips I hope to inspire you to learn everything you need to know to build your own Google Adsense fortune.

So, what’s the big buzz about Google Adwords? Well, if you have a website and need to grow your sales, Google Adwords is the answer. Google Adwords is proven to be very effective at driving new business, and that’s the primary reason why everybody’s trying to get to the top of the paid listings. In short, if you want to increase your sales quickly and dramatically, you need to get started with Adwords. It’s cost-effective and really does work, instantly.

When you search on Google, you’ll no doubt notice the sponsored links on the right hand side of the page. These are examples of Adwords. These text ads, sometimes also found over the top of the natural search results, are advertisements from companies that pay for each click through to their website or landing page. These ads are keyword specific and help match searches for certain products and services with companies that can provide them.

If for example, you’re selling beauty products and have signed up with Google Adwords, your text ad will be seen in the sponsored links section when a surfer uses the search terms beauty treatments’, beauty products’, or whatever keywords you’ve selected - (multiple word and highly specific keyword phrases always work best). In this way, you advertise directly to those people who are already interested in (and actively searching for) what you’re offering. It’s a great way to build your business.

In essence, if you want more highly targeted traffic driven straight to your website, Google Adwords is one of the most effective tools available on the Internet today. Just by clicking your ad, the surfer will be funnelled to your landing page to make a direct purchase, get in contact with you or request contact from you. You pay a fixed amount per click to a pre-set daily budget, and the system proves to be a very convenient way to sell your products or services online. With a bit of experimentation, just a few keywords can make you a healthy profit.

Now, you’re probably wondering how to get started. First, you need to sign up for a free Google Adwords account. Then you have to choose the keywords that are relevant to your type of business and customer. Google itself can help you with this, and has a number of tools that not only suggest the keywords to use for your industry, but how many people search for them and how much they cost.

The next stage in the process is to write your ad. It’s important here to use your chosen keywords in the title of your ad, and make the body copy as punchy and benefits driven as possible within the allowed word count. This takes some practice, and it helps to split test different ads to see which ones work best. After you publish your ad, Google will only charge you if someone clicks on it, and will stop charging when your pre-set budget is reached. For example, you can set a maximum of ten pence per click, with a daily budget of 5.00, and so on. The tools mentioned above are particularly helpful in determining the level at which your budget should be set.

On top of all this, Google Adwords can also make your ads appear only to surfers located in a particular city or region of your choice. So, if you’re offering loans to residents of Manchester, for example, you can set your ads to show exclusively to surfers in this area. This makes targeting even more effective, meaning leads coming to your site are extremely well qualified. And when you understand a bit more about how it all works, there are also tools to help you monitor and improve your return on investment too.

Google Adwords has helped many online businesses grow very quickly. With this cost-effective marketing tool, not only will your web traffic increase, but your sales volume will grow as well. Like never before, Google Adwords enables you to advertise to potential customers at precisely the right time and place. Such laser targeting will revolutionise the way you do business.

Since Google’s Adwords program is the predominant mechanism that online marketers employ to draw potential customers to their websites, I thought it would be useful to go over a few tips and techniques that I have found to be very effective in creating a successful Adwords campaign.

First, I have always found it effective to capitalize the first letter of every word in the headline. Secondly, make sure to use your keywords that you are targeting in the advertisement, this will allow them to appear in bold.

You can run lines two and three together to make a statement. It is helpful to include concrete numbers whenever possible. Examples would include, “Earn $2,500 Extra Per Month” or “Lose 20 Pounds In 40 Days.” However, when using concrete numbers, do not use numbers that are unbelievable or outlandish. This will be perceived as pure hype. A bogus ad if you will.

Next, do not put the name of your business in the headline. The potential customer is searching for their needs, not you (at least not yet)! Don’t use unnecessary words like a, an, the etc….

Consider using word phrases that play on the psychology of the customer to spur buying interest. For example, “Limited Time Only”, “Limited Quantity Available” etc……..

Also, look around and notice the most successful ads in your specific niche. Identify the ones that run over and over again. If they are running again and again, then they are pulling traffic. Study these ads and try to emulate their successful qualities.

Finally, don’t worry about being number 1 in the Google Search Ads results. The number 1 spot of course gets a lot of clicks, however, a large majority of those clicks may not even be clicks from potential customers, they may only be what I call “look sees”, they may just be looking around for what they can see.

Google has started updating AdSense login system to Google Accounts to help increase security with single login system. A Google Account lets you access multiple Google services (such as AdSense, Froogle, Google Groups, and more) with a single email and password.

Here are some things to consider when updating your login:

Use a Google Account or any email and password combination that is different from your current one and that others don’t have access to.

Your login information is the only thing that changes. All your account information - such as billing and campaign details - remain the same.

If you already have a Google Account, you can use it as your new AdSense login. However, you don’t need a Google Account to update your login information. You might already have a Google Account if you use Gmail, Google Groups, Google Alerts, Froogle Shopping List, Personalized Search, Personalized Homepage, and Google Answers.

If you only use AdWords or AdSense (and not one of the other Google services listed above), then you don’t have a Google Account.

You can have more than one Google Account. This is a good way to separate your personal services from your business services.

We recommend that you don’t share your Google Account with other users in order to safeguard your information.

After you choose your new Google Account, you’ll still sign in to AdSense at www.google.com/adsense. In addition, if you choose a Google Account that you use for your other Google services, you can move back and forth between accounts - without having to sign in and out each time.

Updating your Adsense account now !

Google Adsense is a popular web advertising program which provides a good income source for many websites. There are well defined terms of service to strictly adhere to when participating in the program.

On my visit through sites and forums, I daily notice several instances of misuse of Adsense ads. Believe me, if I can see it in a 5 seconds gaze! - so can the Adsense guys. And if they do, you are on your way off the program. So here a few helpful reminders, probably many you already know, and few you might gain by knowing now. These are all picked from the Program Policies, Terms and Conditions and FAQ itself and presented in a simplified manner.

Never click your own ads or get them clicked for whatever reason. You know this one very well. This is a surefire way to close you Adsense account. Never tell your office associates or friends to click on them. Keep a check if your family or children are busy increasing your income by clicking your ads and indirectly trying to stop your income. Dont even think of offering incentives for clicks, using automated clicking tools, or other deceptive software. Adsense is very smart to detect fraudulent clicks. Check the ads which appear on your pages by the Google Preview tool if required.

Never change the Adsense code. There are enough customizations available to change the colour, background or border to suit your needs. Do whatever you want to do outside the code, never fiddle within the ad or the search code. They know it when you do. The search code has more limitations to colour and placement, but you should adhere to the rules. The code may stop working and violates the TOS.

Do not place more than 3 ad unit and 1 ad links or 2 search boxes on any web page. Anyway, ads will not appear in those units even if you place more ad units. But this is the limit they set, so it is better to stick to it.

Do not run competitive contextual text ad or search services on the same site which offer Google Adsense competition in their field. Never try to create link structures resembling the adsense ads. Never use other competitive search tools on the same pages which have Adsense powered Google search. They do allow affiliate or limited-text links.

Do not disclose confidential information about your account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units or any other confidential information they may reveal to you. However, you may reveal the total money you make as per recent updates to the TOS.

Label headings as “sponsored links” or “advertisements” only. Other labels are not allowed. I have seen many sites label ads with other titles. Dont make your site a target in a few seconds gaze.

Never launch a New Page for clicked ads by default. Adsense ads should open on the same page. You may be using a base target tag to open all links in a new window or frame by default. Correct it now as they do not want new pages opening from clicked ads.

One Account suffices for Multiple websites. You do not need to create 5 accounts for 5 different websites. One account will do. If you live in the fear that if one account is closed down for violation of TOS, believe me they will close all accounts when they find out. You can keep track of clicks by using channels with real time statistics. They will automatically detect the new site and display relevant ads.

Place ads only on Content Pages. Advertisers pay only for content based ads. Content drives relevant ads. Although you might manage some clicks from error, login, registration, “thank you” or welcome pages, parking pages or pop ups, it will get you out of the program.

Do not mask ad elements. Alteration of colours and border is a facility to blend or contrast ads as per your site requirements. I have seen many sites where the url part is of the same colour as the background. While blending the ad with your site is a good idea, hiding relevant components of the ads is not allowed. Also do not block the visibility of ads by overlapping images, pop ups, tables etc.

Do not send your ads by email. Html formatted emails look good and allow placement of these javascript ads. But it is not allowed as per TOS. You do not want impressions registering on their logs from any email even once. They are watching!

Keep track of your content. So Adsense is not allowed on several non content pages. But it is also not allowed on several content pages too. Do not add it on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results. Also exclude any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.

Do not alter the results after ad clicks or searches - Ensure you are not in any way altering the site which the user reaches to after clicking the ads. Do not frame, minimize, remove, redirect or otherwise inhibit the full and complete display of any Advertiser Page or Search Results Page after the user clicks on any Ad or Search results.

Avoid excessive advertising and keyword stuffing - Although the definition of ‘excessive’ is a gray area and is subject to discretion, yet Google adsense with correct placement, focused content and high traffic will get you much more income than other programs, so excessive advertising is not required. Keyword stuffing does target better focused ads, but overdoing it is not required.

Ensure you Language is Supported - Adsense supports “Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Danish, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, English, Polish, Finnish, Portuguese, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Swedish, Italian and Turkish”. In addition, AdSense for search is available in Czech, Slovak, and Traditional Chinese. If your web pages language is not supported, do not use the code on such pages.

If any question, Please recomment here to resolve it !

Currently, the service provider to increase ranking on search engine sites and implementing advertising campaigns on effective Search Engine have a new competitor but it is not new: it is Google.

With the acquisition of DoubleClick, Google possesses a large SEO company in the world. As also owns DoubleClick Performics Google should also decide to keep Performics - provider services SEO and SEM.

This has created concerns for service providers SEM and SEO, people who now must “encounter” with Google, a key partner, also a competitor “.

Before Google bought DoubleClick, the company SEO and SEM is the service provider for additional Google, but now when Performics is part of Google, things have changed.

Google may cut its workforce as it integrates online ad firm DoubleClick into its operations, Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt warned in a blog posting after the acquisition was approved by the European Commission on Tuesday.

“As with most mergers, there may be reductions in headcount. We expect these to take place in the U.S. and possibly in other regions as well,” he wrote. The process of determining the right staffing levels in the U.S. is expected to be completed in the U.S. by early April, and could take longer for offices outside the country, he said.

Schmidt also offered assurances that consumer privacy will be protected following the acquisition. “Our scale and infrastructure mean that users will also be spending less time waiting for Web pages to load,” he wrote.

After many months of review, the European Commission finally gave its stamp of approval to the merger, concluding that combining the two companies does not harm competition in the market.
